Basic Needs

“Helping, fixing and serving represent three different ways of seeing life. When you help, you see life as weak. When you fix, you see life as broken. When you serve, you see life as whole. Fixing and helping may be the work of the ego, and service the work of the soul.” – Rachel Naomi Remen, M.D.

In order for people to have the time and energy to turn their attention to important personal, family, and community issues, it’s essential to meet their most basic needs.

MORE fills the gap for some basic needs through our “Garage Ministry,” providing donated food, clothing, household items, and furniture to those in need. This ministry is coordinated by seven members representing the various ethnic groups who are part of the MORE community.

The “Garage Ministry” provides 50-75 people with basic needs every week.
